From November 8th to 22nd, Dr. Peyman Sabet and Dr. Michele Doray, trainers from the English Language Center of Curtin University, Australia, visited our college and carried out the second batch of ELB courses (academic English language bridging courses) teaching training for teachers of our language center. Nine teachers from the Language Center received systematic training in the English Bridging Program (ELB) of Curtin University.
Curtin University’s ELB course focuses on the practical application of teaching theory, emphasizing student-centered task-based teaching and the cultivation of comprehensive academic English skills. This training mainly reviewed the update and development of cognitive theory, linguistic theory and foreign language teaching theory. The teachers who participated in the training carried out the design, practice and reflection of micro-class teaching such as grammar, vocabulary, and speculative reading. While completing normal teaching work, the participating teachers devote an extremely serious attitude to 6 hours of high-intensive training every day. Through theoretical study, micro-class practice, and teaching reflection, they updated their teaching concepts and improved their teaching skills.
